Lloris set to sign new five-year contract

Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris, 29, is set to commit himself to the club for the next five years according to the Sunday Mirror.

The French international admitted that he was considering leaving White Hart Lane during the AVB and Tim Sherwood era, but the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino made him realise that his future is at Spurs.

Hugo’s current contract runs until 2019 and had been previously linked with moves to Manchester United and PSG, but it is now claimed that he’s likely to put pen to paper on a new contract after being impressed by the progress the club has made under Poch and the prospect of Champions League football.

If this turns out to be correct, it would be a massive boost for the club. For once we could see our star players committing their futures to the club rather than departing.

Pochettino has already revealed that he has verbally agreed a new five-year deal, whilst Christian Eriksen is also said to be close to signing a similar contract extension.

The report suggests that Jan Vertonghen, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose will also be made similar offers.

The future is certainly looking bright. COYS!
