Madrid turn their attention to Lloris

Tottenham face a battle to keep Hugo Lloris out of the clutches of Real Madrid according to an article in The Sunday Mirror.

The article says the Spanish giants are ready to move in if Spurs once again fail to win silverware.

It’s added how we have slipped way down the list of contenders for the Premier League title and that we are now reliant on the Champions League or FA Cup for major honours.

It does say Lloris is settled in London, but he is also fiercely ambitious and that the Frenchman will be 31 on Boxing Day and while that is relatively young for a keeper, the article says he knows that his chances of winning one of the top prizes are now receding.

It adds that our Captain would cost around £25million and be a cheaper option than Manchester United’s David de Gea and if Zinedine Zidane survives his current difficulties at the Bernabeu, that could also be a factor.

With World Cup and European Championship-winner Zidane is an icon in France the article adds that Lloris might find it hard not to listen to offers.
