Operation rules out Defoe for 3 months

Jermain Defoe

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Jermain Defoe will be out for around three momths.

The Spurs striker was stretchered off during England’s win in Switzerland on Tuesday and underwent surgery to repair torn ankle ligaments on Thursday evening.

This latest blow follows the news that we’ll also be without Michael Dawson for a number of weeks after he also was injured on international duty.

With Defoe sidelined, Robbie Keane now has the opportunity to come back into the side with us involved in a number of competitions. The question is, will he be able to do as well as Defoe?

Pav will have to step up and step up big time. Giovani can also feel the shoes. Either way Spurs will have to play differently. Probably shoot from longer range unless we can get behind the defence.
