Tottenham Hotspur will be without Wilson Palacios for the trip to Portsmouth on the weekend.

The midfielder has been ordered to remain in Honduras to celebrate after he helped the country to qualify for their first World Cup since 1982.

The country’s ruling military junta have been made to attend to a celebration party in the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: “We’ve got no choice but to go to Portsmouth without Wilson.

“There’s nothing he can do either. I guess when the President tells you to do something, you can’t do much about it.”
