Paulinho linked with Watford

Today’s most unique transfer rumour has to go to the Daily Mail, who claim that Tottenham flop Paulinho is wanted by Premier League newcomers Watford.

The Brazilian has failed to make an impact at White Hart Lane since his £17million transfer in 2013 and is widely tipped to be shipped out of N17 over the course of the summer.

Paulinho made just 15 Premier League appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side last year and according to the report, a loan move to Vicarage Road could be on the cards.

Personally, I’d rather see him leave on a permanent deal and try at least to recoup as much of the fee as we possibly can.  He has been linked with numerous Serie A clubs over the past year including Juventus, Roma and AC Milan and would probably suit his style of play better than remaining in the Premier League.

We still need a midfield partner for Nabil Bentaleb.  The jury is still out on Ryan Mason and Benjamin Stambouli needs to be given more of a chance to show what he can do.
