Roman Pavlyuchenko admits that he finds it difficult being mostly a subsitute at Tottenham, but is looking to take his chance when he gets it.

The Russian came off the bench to score the winner in Saturday’s 3-1 win against Wolves and is set to start against Arsenal at the Lane in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.

“Sitting on the bench – it’s hardly a pleasure, but I adjusted to the fact that if I get a chance I should use it. I wanted to go out and score,” said Pavlyuchenko to Sport Express.

“And, thank God, everything turned out. It was very important because this season, as last term, started for me slowly. And now there is no one to blame but myself, so the desire to change something helped me.

“I hope now to catch a wave, especially if I start on Tuesday in the FA Cup match against Arsenal.”

Com on spurs. Make arsenal kids suffer on tuesday night. Who does WENGER think he is? Sending kids 2 play against a quality team.

Sadly Pav is likely to be on bench most of time- in games he gives little except he’s often in good positions & is an accomplished finisher- but it terms of all-round play- he is hopeless. He might form an understanding with the likes of VDV, Keane, Modric, but he hasn’t with Bale, Lennon or Huddlestone! I wonder if language is still an issue?
