Player Ratings: Chelsea 3 – 0 Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris – It’s great that we don’t see performances like this from our captain today. He was the worst player of the team, getting beaten at his near post for the first goal and giving away the ball ridiculously for the second.

Vlad Chiriches – The makeshift right-back never looked comfortable on the night. He did not have a chance against Hazard and caught ball watching for the first Chelsea goal. He was sloppy on possession and was caught out of possession at times.

Ben Davies – He was one of the bright spots for Spurs as he did not give Willian any opportunity in the game. He did not have much in the attacking third, but his defensive showing was encouraging.

Federico Fazio – The Argentinean centre-back was really good against Drogba tonight, he showed strength and desire to keep the striker out. However, he relied too much on Vertonghen to cover for him.

Jan Vertonghen – The Belgian did not have a good game as he was turned easily against Drogba for the second goal. He did not react fast enough against Remy for the third goal and couldn’t contain him in the box.

Nabil Bentaleb – The youngster looked really comfortable on the ball and disciplined on defence. He should keep his place in the upcoming games.

Christian Eriksen – After an impressive game on Sunday, the Dane did not have any effect on the game tonight. He couldn’t find the spaces he likes to get and his passing wasn’t good enough.

Ryan Mason – He showed energy at the start and looked good but he got sloppy on the ball as the game went on. He was rightly replaced by Paulinho in the 58th minute.

Erik Lamela – He worked hard and tried to cause problems for the Chelsea defence, but he was non-effective. He did not look like the right player for this kind of match.

Aaron Lennon – He started brilliantly and provided a great cross for Harry Kane who hit the bar. He provided some good width but decided to switch flanks looked anonymous thereafter.

Harry Kane – The striker started so well and missed two glorious chances to put Spurs ahead but then he couldn’t get any support and his production dropped. He still held the ball up well and provided some nice cushion passes to get his team on the front foot.
