PLAYER RATINGS: Everton 0-3 Spurs

Hugo Lloris – 6 – Merely a spectator for the majority of the match, one nervy moment where he set up an Everton player for a free shot at goal.

Kieran Trippier – 7 – Delivered a great ball into the box which Sissoko should have headed home.

Jan Vertonghen – 7 – Another solid performance from Vertonghen, kept Rooney in his pocket.

Davinson Sanchez – 7 – Slotted in comfortably alongside the Belgian duo. No major tests to deal with, a comfortable full Premier League debut for the Colombian.

Toby Alderweireld – 7 – Received an early booking, but apart from that another solid performance.

Ben Davies – 9 – One of his best games in a Tottenham shirt. Fantastic going forward, superb delivery into the box – notably for Kane’s second. Danny Rose won’t have to Google him this evening.

Eric Dier – 6 – Broke up the Everton play well in the middle of the park.

Moussa Sissoko – 6 – Had a great chance to open the scoring in the first half and squandered a headed chance in the second. In one movement he can do from world-class to Sunday league. Yet still one of his better displays in a Spurs shirt.

Christian Eriksen – 7 – Reacted well to score our second goal, should have had two.

Dele Alli – 7 – Kept his nose clean and didn’t get into any confrontational situations. Linked up well with Kane.

Harry Kane – 8 – You just knew he would be in the score-sheet in September. A two-goal display from one of our own.
