PLAYER RATINGS: QPR 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris – The Frenchman was in great form this afternoon as he reacted fast to the terrible header from Walker, made some good saves from Zamora and Austin. He was saved by his bar in the first half and got beaten by his ex-teammate Sandro in the second.

Kyle Walker – He almost gifted QPR a goal today but he was solid for most of the game. He kept charging down the right wing and helped his team when attacking.

Ben Davies – He replaced Rose in the starting line-up and produced one of his usual performances. He did not offer too much in the attacking third but he made no mistake on defence, keeping Isla limited.

Eric Dier – Even though he started the game well, he couldn’t handle the long and high balls QPR aimed at Zamora as the game went on. Zamora targeted the youngster more than Vertonghen. That seemed to really frustrate the centre-back as he lashed out at Zamora late on.

Jan Vertonghen – He is definitely a quality centre-back on the ball and he showed his ability today. However, his defensive presence is getting more suspect with every game as he was caught on his heels by QPR attackers in the first half and late second half.

Nabil Bentaleb – He played really well today as he embraced the role of a deep-lying playmaker for this Spurs team. He made some really good tackles and passed the ball forward from deep and started the attacks. However, he might have gotten away with a handball shortly after QPR’s goal.

Christian Eriksen – The Dane was decent again as he worked really hard to find the spaces in front of the defence. He tried to find the killer balls but he did not have much success in that area. However, his superb shot at the start of the second half almost doubled the Spurs lead, as did his close range shot that was blocked by Austin on the goal line.

Ryan Mason – He worked tirelessly to win the ball back and did well to keep the ball when in possession. He almost scored from a lucky flick at the end of the first half but he did not have much success going forward.

Nacer Chadli – He started on the left hand side but he couldn’t get the better of Onuoha as he tried to cut inside almost every time he got the ball. He was a bit better in the No. 10 role but his best contribution was when he poked the ball wide from close range from Eriksen’s cross.

Andros Townsend – He did not have much joy working on the right hand side but he grew into the game close to the end of first half. He set up the first goal with a superb cross that was scored by Kane and he could have scored one himself if he made the most of Caulker’s mistake.

Harry Kane – The young English striker started the game really well with a great header that was saved by Green. He continued his great goal scoring form away from home with a good header in the first half. He punished QPR’s comical defence with a well-taken second goal after rounding Green. He broke the Spurs record with his first goal by becoming the first player to score in 6 successive away games.

Mousa Dembele– The Belgian replaced Townsend to bring a bit more control to the Spurs midfield and he also used his strength really well to keep the ball.

Erik Lamela – He came for Chadli and kept the ball well to waste valuable time at the end of the game.

Benjamin Stambouli – He came on late for Eriksen and helped the team with his defensive presence.
