PLAYER RATINGS: Tottenham 3-0 APOEL

Fernando Llorente and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou scored their first goals for Tottenham goal as Spurs strolled into the last 16 by beating APOEL.

Llorente had gone 16 games without finding the net since his summer switch from Swansea City, but the 32-year-old scored one before setting up a second for Son Heung-min. Nkoudou completed the 3-0 rout late on.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men had secured first place in Group H regardless of this result and they now go through with a spring in their step, after collecting 16 points from a possible 18 in a pool that included Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid.

Here are our Spurs player ratings:-

Michel Vorm – 5 – Very little to do

Serge Aurier – 6 – A good cross to set up Fernando Llorente’s header, but still needs to learn. Was booked for a nasty challenge and could have received another card for petulance after kicking the corner flag.

Davinson Sanchez – 7 – Solid at the back and comfortable bringing the ball out, still needs to sometimes play the simple pass. Notably, he should have played it back to Vorm on one occasion and got caught in possession.

Juan Foyth – 7 – Another composed display from the young Argentine. Had a chance in the first half which he headed over the bar and made a nice maurauding run in the second half. Needs to be stronger when challenged.

Danny Rose – 6 – His yellow card and ‘words’ with Pochettino will make the headlines.

Harry Winks – 7 – His usual energetic self in the middle of the park, always wanting the ball and looking to make us tick.

Moussa Sissoko – 6 – One of his better games, got stuck in and did a decent job alongside Winks.

Dele Alli – 6 – Didn’t have much luck in the final third of the pitch, but did look to get involved in play. Signs of progress compared to some of his recent displays.

Georges Kevin-Nkoudou – 7 – Adds some much needed natural width to the side and got his first goal for the club, albeit a deflected effort. Hopefully he can continue to knuckle down and give Pochettino food for thought.

Heung-min Son – 8 – Another brilliant curling finish from the South Korean to double our lead. Was subsituted halfway through the second half with one eye on Saturday’s game.

Fernando Llorente – 7 – Fantastic to see him finally get his first goal for the club with a brilliant touch and finish. Linked up well with Son and could have doubled his tally in the second half.

Subs

Mousa Dembele – 6 – Still not looking at his sharpest, needs more minutes.

Kyle Walker-Peters – 6 – Came on for Danny Rose and linked up well with Nkoudou on the left. Good to see him given some game time.

Kazaiah Sterling – 6 – A cameo debut appearance for the Spurs academy graduate with just a couple of minutes left.
