PLAYER RATINGS: West Ham United 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris – 8 – He was under pressure at the start of the game by West Ham attackers and he was lucky not to concede the penalty after Noble put the ball wide. He made some important saves and kept his composure and calm in the match.

Kyle Naughton – 5 – He was calm and had not much to do at the start because Vaz Te’s gave him nothing to worry about. He deserved to be sent off after blocking Nolan’s shot with his hands.

Danny Rose – 7  – It was a surprise that he started in front of Davies and he did not have his best outing today. He gave Downing too much room to operate. Naughton’s red card helped him as he was more focused and responsible after 30th minute.

Younes Kaboul – 7 – He had a strange afternoon as he paired up with two different centre-backs. He looked on edge and vulnerable against Carlton Cole but he managed to keep his composure at the end.

Eric Dier – 8 – He showed his inexperience at the Premier League level by freezing against the West Ham attackers and he looked unsure at the start but he was better at right back after Naughton was sent off. He was the hero at the end as he calmly went around the keeper and slotted the ball into the net.

Aaron Lennon – 5 – He never tried to open up the defence with his pace and he did not produce passes that could have put Adebayor into space. Good decision by Pochettino to sub him in 60th minute.

Christian Eriksen  – 7 – He couldn’t find the space he needed and he could only play short passes most of the game. He wasted some decent free kick opportunities. He still looked lively and he paired up really well with Adebayor.

Nabil Bentaleb – 8 – He was incredibly active and always wanted to be on the ball. He touched the ball in every area of the pitch and he produced some good passes to get his team going. He almost made some costly mistakes but all in all he produced a great outing today.

Etienne Capoue – 6 – His passing game was not on point today and made couple of mistakes in the middle of the park. He made a decent makeshift centre back but he did not have much impact on the game.

Erik Lamela – 6 – He was expected to do much more in the game but he couldn’t find the space he needed to operate and he drifter wide and away from the goal to touch the ball most of the time. He deserved to be subbed in 60th minute like Lennon.

Emmanuel Adebayor – 6 He pushed Reid and Collins to their limits and eventually forced a red card from the referee for the Welshman. He should have been much more active against 10-men West Ham but he couldn’t get into the spaces to score today.

Subs

Andros Townsend – 8 – He came out of the gates with incredible energy and enthusiasm as he took some decent shots and lifted his team going forward with some decent runs and passes.

Lewis Holtby – 5 – He had 30 minutes to find a breakthrough but he couldn’t use his creative abilities and did not have a significant role in the game other than some short passes in the final third.

Harry Kane – 5 – He looked ready for the season as his passing game in the final third was encouraging.
