Poch: Kane can be a legend at Spurs

Harry Kane is already well on his way to becoming a Tottenham legend, according to manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Kane bagged a first-half hat-trick for Spurs against Stoke this afternoon to maintain the home side’s unbeaten record in the Premier League at White Hart Lane.

It was a day of numbers for Kane, his first goal was the 100th goal of his professional career, whilst his third meant that he has now scored three hat-tricks in nine matches whilst also becoming the first Spurs player to score 20 goals in three successive seasons since the legendary Jimmy Greaves.

Dele Alli bagged the fourth goal to help put behind the disappointment of Thursday night’s Europa League exit and his red card.

“I think Harry has it all and the profile to be a legend here, if he has not already started to be a legend here with the goals he is scoring,” Pochettino said.

“With how he behaves, how professional he is, how like a man he is – he has the perfect profile to be a legend here at Tottenham.”

“I think yes, he is one of the best strikers in Europe,” Pochettino added

“I am very pleased for him, he deserves it, he is very professional, a top man and I am very happy.

“It is not new for me. It does not surprise me because I have said many times he is one of the best strikers in the world.”

Tottenham will now be looking to build upon today’s performance when Everton travel to the Lane next Sunday where nothing less than three points will satisfy the White Hart Lane faithful in our bid to return to Champions League football.
