Poch looks to build Fergie-style dynasty at Spurs

Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that he could build a legacy at Tottenham Hotspur in a similar fashion as to what Sir Alex Ferguson did at Manchester United.

Fergie managed to build a dynasty at United with the help of the “Class of 92” which saw the likes of David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville helping them to glory on both a domestic and European level over a number of years.

When I look closely at our squad and see the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and co it’s logical to think why can’t we go on and achieve the same. Especially with Pochettino revealing that he has verbally agreed to stay at the Lane until 2021.

We’re in the best position we’ve been in years off the field. We’ve got a manager who is the envy of the Premier League, a scouting system with Paul Mitchell which will pay dividends and the lure of Champions League football coupled with a 61,000 seater stadium on the horizon.

If Poch goes onto achieve half of what Fergie did at United then we’re in for an exciting few years ahead.

“Why not? Sir Alex Ferguson is a very special person,” Pochettino said.

“He was given the security to build his legacy at Manchester United. I believe we are special too and we can build it here together.

“This club is special. I feel the love from the beginning, from the very first day. I am very happy to be here to hopefully achieve big things.

“I think the potential is fantastic, with the new stadium. I think the club is coming to a very tough period because we are building a new stadium and we may focus sometimes on that, but at the same time it is very exciting.”
