Pochettino confident on Alli’s fitness ahead of North London Derby

Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful Dele Alli will be fit to face Arsenal after the international break.

Dele missed our win against Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday with a minor hamstring injury, that he first aggravated in the defeat to Manchester United.

However the England international played the full 90 minutes against Real Madrid in midweek, scoring twice in a sublime display, as Tottenham clinched a memorable Champions League victory.

However he was absent on Sunday along with other mainstays Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld but Pochettino expects the in-form attacking midfielder to be fit for the visit to north London rivals Arsenal on November 18th.

“Dele Alli felt something in his tendon in his posterior against Manchester United, close to his hamstring,”Pochettino said according to an article in The Metro.

Pochettino added “He played 90 minutes against Real Madrid but it is only a very small thing. It was a risk for him to play today but for Arsenal he will be ready to play.’

Pochettino has also revealed Harry Winks twisted his ankle in the first-half against Palace and had to be replaced (by Mousa Dembele)

However both Winks and Harry Kane, who was seen to by the club physio at one point, are expected to feature for England during the international break.

Pochettino added “We need to assess Harry Winks along with the national team medical team but I am sure he is going to make it,’

“Harry Kane is okay and I am sure he is going to make the national team too. We just have to have good communication and have trust with the national team that they will take the best decision for the player, for England and for Tottenham”

On the victory against Roy Hodgson’s struggling side Pochettino said “I am very pleased with the victory over Palace. The team were very professional and we fought. We have to fight in every game.”
