Pochettino “relaxed and calm” as top four rivals strengthen

An article by The Daily Mail says Mauricio Pochettino insisted he is ‘relaxed and calm’ about our top four rivals strengthening their squads this month despite losing ground in the Champions League race.

We will be five points off fourth if Liverpool win at bottom club Swansea on Monday night after they were held 1-1 at Southampton.

The article adds how Liverpool splashed out £75m on Virgil van Dijk, Chelsea have bought Ross Barkley and are looking for striker, and while rivals Arsenal have lost Alexis Sanchez they are poised to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrik Mkhitaryan while
Spurs haven’t spent a penny in the January window.

‘I am not concerned about that:said Pochettino. ‘In the window, it will be difficult to add quality to the team in that period.I am very relaxed and calm, I am not concerned, I am happy with the squad we have.

He added: “It is not easy to add a player who can help for three months. It is very difficult. For some clubs it is easier but it is not easy for us.’

On our performance yesterday Pochettino added: ‘I am disappointed because our game wasn’t great, our performance wasn’t the best.We made a lot of mistakes in possession that allowed them to create some chances and to feel comfortable on the pitch. The result is fair, we only got one point and we need to improve.’
