Redknapp admits four strikers is a problem

Harry Redknapp admits that he would rather have three stikers at Tottenham, clearing the way for Roman Pavlyuchenko’s departure.

The Russian forward has played only around 60 minutes of Premier League football this season and is frustrated with life at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp said: “I never seem to get Pav on the pitch, which is hard on him.

“Technically he is a very good player, but when people say I’ve got four very good strikers, I’d rather have just three, because of the problems four cause.

“In today’s football, you could play with just one striker, with Luka Modric or Niko Kranjcar playing off him.

“So with four it is too many. Pav is finding it hard to deal with, but what can I do?

“And if someone comes in for Pav, I wouldn’t necessarily look to replace him, no.”
