The season may have only just finished but the transfer rumour mill is in full flow.

The Sunday Mirror are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur will launch a £6million bid for Manchester City defender Micah Richards.

Richards, 21, has fallen out of favour at Eastlands and has not been named in Fabio Capello’s provisional 30-man squad for the World Cup.  Two years ago, Richards was seen as potentially the best young defender in the country.

He has three years to run on his existing deal and the Sunday Mirror is claiming that sources close to the player admit that his career has reached a crossroads.

    I would take richards he can play right back and centre half. 6m would be a great deal
  2. essexian76 says:
    Richards would be a sensible buy for us, unlike Gallas
  3. Edwhite says:
    With Hutton leaving, a quality RB is definitely needed, and Micah Richards fills the bill.

    WOULD THINK CITY WOULD WANT MORE THAN £6 MILLION FOR HIM , AND IF HUTTON IS PUSHED OR SHOVED OUT THE LANE AND CORLUKA IS NOT THE BEST AT R / BACK AND YOUNG WALKER IS A SOUND R / BACK FOR THE FUTURE RICHARDS MUST BE GOING INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE DEFENCE .

    @camel..you give me the hump!

    buy richards cos he is english!

    proven preiership quality (low risk) and an english core to our side is the key to our success! JD azza thud daws chrouchie ledders and so on.

    go and support the foreigners at the emirates!

  14. Cross says:
    With our centre back position cursed with injury and a departing Hutton on the cards a versatile man like Richards would be a good buy. He'll bomb down the right flank more than Corluka and can slot in at centre back if needs be.

    I can see Woodgate leaving for another club if his leg hasn't fallen off this summer. Cracking player to have in the trenches but he's no use when he's always under anaesthetic. He makes Darren Anderton look durable!

  15. Chas says:
    Arry will get him playing.
