Danny Rose hopes to prove he is good enough to be Tottenham’s first-choice left-back.
Rose has a challenge on his hands to oust Benoit Assou-Ekotto from Harry Redknapp’s first choice squad. Benny has been one of our star performers over the past year-and-a-half.
Rose told the Spurs site: “My ultimate aim is to be in the starting XI on a Saturday.
“I got in the team for the last four games of last season and did well.
“I started all right in pre-season and was unlucky to get the injury.
“That has set me back a bit, but I want to be in the starting line-up on a Saturday.
“The way I train I think I deserve to be in and around it.
I hope to do well (against Rubin Kazan) and get some positive feedback.”

Akotto has improved but still makes errors in every game – look at Wigan away for example, it seems to me that when someone at Spurs becomes a favourite there mistakes get brushed under the carpet just like Dawson does for instance….COYS
