Rumour Mill: January Swap Deal?

According to Football.London, Manchester United will attempt to lure Spurs into selling Danny Rose in January with the promise of a player plus cash deal.

Now that the Summer transfer window has finally come to an end, it seems that certain media outlets believe that now is the time to start all the January transfer rumours.

As reported by Football.London, 27 year old Spurs left-back Danny Rose has already been targeted for gossip, having been linked with a move to Manchester United in just 4 months time.

Tottenham’s injured defender was named in the PFA Team of the Year last season and his performances certainly didn’t unnoticed by Tottenham’s Premier League rivals either.

Over the last few months, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with the Englishman, however Tottenham have always reiterated their strong stance on defender’s position at the club.

Speculative Danny Rose stories have been circulating since May, but the situation wasn’t helped when the full-back gave an exclusive interview with The Sun, where he claimed he was underpaid and open to a transfer.

Apparently, once the January transfer window opens, Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho will tempt Tottenham into a deal for Rose with the offer of 22 year old left-back Luke Shaw, plus a sum of cash.

I dig just a tiny bit of digging and it seems this story originated at the Manchester Evening News, the famous home of drivel.

Though it reeks of a would-be journalist’s wet-dream, hypothetically speaking, what is your reaction to the offer? Do you think we should push for more, or reject outright?
