Sandro move set to fall through

Sandro’s expected move to Tottenham looks set to be cancelled, after Internacional said that the Brazilian midfielder would not be leaving the club in January.

Spurs have held an interest in the 20 year-old since the summer and reports earlier in the week had claimed the deal was almost completed.

However, Internacional have found an issue in the sporting partnership that they hold with Tottenham, so the deal may not go ahead.

“Sandro is not moving in this transfer window,” claimed Inter’s vice-president, Fernando Carvalho.

“The partnership with Tottenham has not been finalised, there are a number of details which we did not sign up to.

“Sandro’s exit could only have happened if this was in place.

“He will now play in the Libertadores for Inter. It may come in August that he will move to Europe – but that could be true of any of our players.”

Sandro’s agent, Luiz Chignoli has also denied reports that terms had been agreed with Tottenham, despite several publications carrying quotes from him to the contrary.

“It is not true. The English press has invented that Sandro has had medicals in England too.”
