Tottenham Hotspur legend Gary Mabbutt will undergo heart surgery after suffering chest pains and breathlessness, the club have confirmed.
The former Spurs captain, who lifted the 1991 FA Cup is now in hospital. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
A statement on the club Twitter feed said: “Gary Mabbutt was admitted to hospital this morning where he will undergo heart surgery later after suffering chest pains and breathlessness.
“Everyone at the club wishes our legendary former captain a speedy recovery.
