Have Spurs had a lucky escape on missed transfer target?

It sounds like Tottenham Hotspur have had a lucky escape after missing out on the signature of Bryan Ruiz.
Spurs were heavily linked with a move for the former FC Twente attacking midfielder, who eventually moved to Fulham in a £10.6m deal during the last transfer window.
He admits he is struggling to cope with the pace of the Premier League having started just one game and made three further sub appearances.
Ruiz, 26, said: “I’ve not had a comfortable time so far.
“When I played in Holland I used to have an extra second to think.
“That makes a big difference. Here I am placed under greater pressure and get less time to act on the pitch.
“You also get more one-on-one situations in Dutch football. Here you get two players breathing down your neck straight away.”

Some players take slightly longer to adjust to the pace and style of the EPL and 7 games doesn't make him a bad player. In todays money £10.6m is hardly a massive amount to pay for what who I believe is a quality player.
