Spurs ‘lucky’ to have Lloris – Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino was full of praise for Hugo Lloris after our 3-2 win against Swansea City and claimed that Tottenham are lucky to have the French goalkeeper.

An outstanding save from Lloris in injury time kept out a header from Federico Fernandez to prevent the visitors from taking their first point at Tottenham since 1930.

Lloris has been consistently superb for Spurs this season and following Younes Kaboul’s inability to hold down a first-team place, has taken on the role as on-field captain.

Pochettino told BBC Sport: “I am happy but the feeling is a bit strange because in the last minutes they had chances.

“It was a great save in the last minute. He (Hugo Lloris) is one of the best in the world and we are lucky we have him with us.

“The three points and victory were very important – to feel like a winner again after the game. It was difficult after the final to lift the players and supporters but we showed big character today and played well. It was a great performance.”
