Are Spurs set to make a move for Young in January?

According to TalkSport, Tottenham are set to renew their interest in Aston Villa Ashley Young in January.

The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane during the summer transfer window and was apparently close to a switch until Martin O’Neill resigned as manager.

Young is valued at around £25million by Villa officials, which would be a massive outlay in spending by Daniel Levy. Is he really worth £25million? Especially considering the midfield options we have.

The player is said to be keen to play Champions League football and return to London. He currently earns around £65,00-a-week at Villa Park, which would put him in line with the top earners at the Lane.

One possibility of getting Young for a lower fee, which apparently is being looked at is by offering the likes of Robbie Keane or Jermaine Jenas as part of a potential deal.
