Tom Huddlestone - Tottenham Hotspur Football News

Tottenham have confirmed that Tom Huddlestone underwent ankle surgery on Friday.

The midfielder, 24, has not played since August 28 after suffering a recurrence of the ankle injury which dogged him throughout last season in the 5-1 defeat against Manchester City.

Last week Spurs boss Harry Redknapp announced that Huddlestone would require an operation on the injury – his second in the space of 11 months – and the club confirmed the operation took place on Friday.

A club statement read on Friday: “Tom Huddlestone has today (Friday) undergone a surgical procedure to his right ankle.

“The midfielder will be further assessed by the specialist in six weeks’ time, after which a time frame for a return to training will be determined.”

This is sad news because our game needs his exciting passing and shooting i cat wait too see him ping his exciting passes on ADy Head and Toes and Defoe i hope this time it works for the lad.

Agreed. I think our wingers (Bale and Lennon) miss him foremost followed by Defoe as a result. He gets the ball out to the wingers quickly before the opposition have had a chance to double up on them. This allows them to get in behind the opposition which is the service that Defoe in particular thrives on. Bale is a better player with more in his locker than Defoe and Lennon, and it is no surprise that their performances in particular have suffered in Big Tom's absense.
