Tottenham striker Darren Bent is at the centre of a transfer controversy after comments attributed to him were posted on Twitter.
The account in Bent’s name ‘db10thetruth’, which has now been removed carried a number of attacks on Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy as his proposed move to Sunderland drags on.
“Seriously getting p***ed off now,” read the first message.
Bent then went on to add: “Why can’t anything be simple?
“Sunderland are not the problem in the slightest.
“Do I wanna go Hull City? NO. Do I wanna go Stoke? NO. Do I wanna go Sunderland YES.”
Spurs are said to be holding out for the £16.5million which they paid Charlton two years ago, Sunderland are thought to be willing to pay £12million rising to £14million.
