Harry Redknapp is being linked with making a £6million offer to bring Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson to Tottenham Hotspur.
Johnson, 21, made a massive impact for City when he first came onto the scene, but has since fallen down the Eastlands pecking order due to injury.
Redknapp has already admitted that he is short of cover in the middle of midfield.
He said: “Central midfield is the one area we don’t have a lot of players. We’ve only got Palacios, Huddlestone and Jenas and I don’t have many options there.”
