Spurs to have first refusal on Berahino

Tottenham will have first refusal on signing West Brom striker Saido Berahino, 22, in the summer following talks between Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Baggies owner Jeremy Peace.

The Sunday People claim that the two are understood to have thrashed out a gentlemen’s agreement over Berahino after Peace put the block on any move for the England Under-21 international during last month’s transfer window.

We all remember Berahino’s famous Twitter rant after being not allowed to move to White Hart Lane last summer and he could now get his wish at the end of the current campaign.

The Baggies rejected a £24million cash bid from Newcastle United just before the window closed and Spurs will have to match any bids from any other potential suitors when the widow reopens.

Relations between Spurs and West Brom have improved following the decision to loan Alex Pritchard to Tony Pulis’ side.
