Striker’s agent dimisses £25m Spurs move

Porto striker Jackson Martinez wants to stay with the Portuguese champions despite reported interest from Tottenham, according to his agent.

The Colombian striker was linked by the press with a £25million move to White Hart Lane, which would have seen Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas raid his former club for the player.

His agent Luis Manso has insisted that Martinez is happy in Portugal and does not want to uproot his family.

“Jackson Martinez has always said he wants to stay at FC Porto and he does not have to leave,” Luis Manso told Radio Renaiscenca.

“He is happy and his family too so I do not see the intention of the club to sell.”

Manso blamed the speculation on the English media for the rumours that have circulated.

“It seems strange that the English press push the issue, there really is just Porto,” he added.

“We have not spoken to anyone and we are not interested in any negotiations. That’s the truth.”
