Sunday reports linking Crouch to Liverpool – again

Peter Crouch

Despite the fact that Harry Redknapp has insisted that Peter Crouch is going nowhere, the Sunday newspaper’s continue to link the forward with a move to Liverpool.

The Daily Mail claim that new Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is keen to take the England international back to Anfield just two years after he left the club.  Apparently Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher have recommended Crouch to their new boss and believe he would be the pefect foil for Fernando Torres.

Redknapp is keen to hold onto Crouch and in all honesty a deal is unlikely considering Redknapp’s previous quotes.

“We’re not anywhere near signing anybody yet but we’ve got a few irons in the fire,” said Redknapp earlier this month.

“Crouch is going nowhere, though. He is definitely staying.”
