VIDEO: Sherwood on guaranteed goals and disgraceful pitches

Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood lamented the worst pitch he’d ever seen after his side’s 1-0 Europa League loss to Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

With the second leg at White Hart Lane on Thursday night, a Dnipro away goal will mean that we’ll need to score three goals of our own – it was a poor performance, one of the worst of the season.

Hopefully the match against Norwich City will be a far better display.

Sherwood told the media: “It was a better result if we were to score, we had opportunities to score, so did they. Give them credit, they did very, very well. It’s just a shame we couldn’t come away with a goal. It would of benefited us. Obviously they’ve got threats and they will have threats next week at White Hart Lane, but we will score at the lane, guaranteed, but it depends how many we might have to score.”

“They played very well, but the pitch is a disgrace. It’s no excuse because both teams have to play on it, but it’s possibly the worse pitch I’ve ever experienced for a long, long time.”
