Hugo Lloris – 8 – Once he broke into the team, a superb first season in England for the French number one, who has played the role of sweeper-keeper to near perfection. Has had an incredible impact on our defence as he actually organises them.
Brad Friedel – 6 – When he has been called upon, he has done his job for the team. Made a few great saves against West Brom and Norwich before Lloris was signed, but ultimately hasn’t played enough to warrant any more than a 6.
Kyle Walker – 6 – Hasn’t been as good as last season, but has really picked up his performances since the turn of the year and still looks like he could have a very promising future at Spurs.
Kyle Naughton – 5 – He has been a useful player to have around the squad as he can fill in at left back or right back, but has unfortunately shown that he isn’t up to our standard.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto – 6 – Only made 15 appearances in the league this year; it hasn’t been his best season, obviously not helped by the injury that kept him out for the first 4 months of the season.
William Gallas – 5 – After a good season last year, he has shown this year that he is simply past his best, with his lack of pace and agility causing him problems.
Jan Vertonghen – 9 – The Belgian gets a 9 for fitting into our defence so seamlessly in his first season in English football and for covering the hole left by the retired King and the injured Kaboul. I have very high hopes for his future at Spurs.

Michael Dawson – 7 – Whilst he may not be the quickest or the cleverest, he is a dominant force in the air and his passion and determination on the pitch is absolutely unrivalled.
Steven Caulker – 6 – Played in almost half of our league games this season, and has done a good job whenever called upon, without being electrifying. Still only 21, he has an extremely bright future ahead of him at Spurs.
Sandro – 8 – If injury hadn’t meant that he missed the second half of the season, then he definitely would be receiving a 9 or a 10. He was the driving force in our midfield before Christmas and exceeded all expectations. There’s no doubt that in a couple of years, the Brazilian will be world-class.
Scott Parker – 6 – A similar season to Dawson. Came into the side late, lacked a bit of technical ability but always displays guts and passion on the football pitch. A useful squad player if not a starter.
Jake Livermore – 5 – Has made 11 league appearances this year, which is arguably 11 too many. A decent player, but not up to our level. Simply doesn’t add that much on the pitch: not good enough offensively and not good enough defensively.
Lewis Holtby – 6 – There have been some promising glimpses from the new signing, but under a manager like AVB you need time to settle in and this upcoming pre-season will be vital for his progress.
Tom Huddlestone – 6 – Whilst there have been some great displays, for example his game-changing cameo at home to Manchester City, he isn’t really up to the pace of the pressing Premier League.
Mousa Dembele – 8 – A superb first season for the Belgian at the Lane, controlling the tempo in the midfield. One thing he needs to add is more goals; we have seen on occasion what he can produce.
Gylfi Sigurdsson – 7 – Took a long time for him to break into the team after joining from Hoffenheim, but once he did he has been one of our best players, scoring vital goals against Chelsea and West Ham away, as well as Everton at home.
Gareth Bale – 9 – A season of meteoric proportions for the Welshman who has surpassed all expectations, netting 21 league goals including stunners against Manchester United, Norwich, Sunderland, Southampton, West Ham, Lyon, Liverpool……
Aaron Lennon – 6 – A stop-start season due to injury for the winger, but has played quite well, especially in the home draw against Manchester United when he provided the assist for Dempsey’s equaliser.
Clint Dempsey – 7 – He may not offer too much apart from goals, but he gets a 7 for the important strikes he has netted, including Manchester United home and away (although they were from a combined total of about 10 yards).
Jermain Defoe – 6 – The Englishman gets this rating solely for the first half of the season, where he was on fire. 11 league goals isn’t a bad return, but a Champions League chasing club needs more than that. The highlight has got to be the screamer at home to Manchester City to take the lead.
Emmanuel Adebayor – 4 – Wouldn’t even have got 4 if the season ended in April; he offered nothing pre-April and has only just started to show what he can do in the last few matches – when it is too late.
