Tottenham Player Ratings vs Leeds United

David Bentley - Header

Gomes (8) – Fine handling in difficult conditions. Terrific save from Michalik header just after the first goal.

Corluka (7) – Solid defensively, a bit subdued going forward.

Bale (7) – Found Snodgrass a handful in the first half but turned it around in the second by bombing forward and causing Leeds non-stop problems.

Bassong (7) – Handled Beckford much better than in the first game, hopefully a sign that he’s learning as he goes along.

Dawson (7) – Led by example, as ever when he’s skipper. A number of cracking block tackles in the first half.

Bentley (9) – A revelation. Skilful and determined. So much better when he restricts the fancy stuff. Lovely run and left foot shot in the second half as well as making two goals.

Huddlestone (7) – Watched the game go by a bit as he normally does when the tempo is that high. Much better in the second half than first.

Jenas (6) – Very familiar display. Looks to have all the tools but you end up afterwards wondering whether you should’ve got someone else to do the job.

Kranjcar (7) – Played a full part in pushing Leeds back in the second half. A number of strong skilful runs.

Defoe (9) – How can you give a nine to a man who missed so many chances? Well he won us the game is how.

Crouch (7) – That Michalik’s a big bloke. The usual non-stop battling from Crouchy with little assistance from the referee. Hit the bar at 2-1.
