Transfer embargo could see O’Hara return

Jamie O’Hara could be set to move back to Spurs in January, after the Premier League informed Portsmouth they would not be able to extend his loan until their transfer embargo is lifted.

O’Hara’s loan stint at Fratton Park expires on the 15th of January and there is a clause for that spell to be extended should the clubs agree.

However, with Pompey unable to sign players until that ban is lifted, an extension to O’Hara’s deal cannot be completed.

O’Hara himself has admitted he is in the dark regarding what is going to happen, but has stated his preference to remain with Portsmouth for the season.

“I don’t know what the whole situation is, so I’m just trying to wait and see what happens.

“I mean obviously it’s up on the 15th, so once I know then we can try and sort something out. But I think there’s a clause in it where Tottenham maybe want me to go to three clubs and if Portsmouth can’t do it, then maybe I’ll be going somewhere elsewhere.

I’m disappointed obviously. I’ve been doing really well here, I’m enjoying my football, so obviously I don’t want to go back and not play.

“But I mean we are going to see what happens in the next week or so and hopefully something can get sorted out.

“Of course I want to stay. I mean I’m enjoying my football and I want to help Portsmouth get out of relegation.

“But obviously if I have to go back, Harry doesn’t really want me to go back and not play, so maybe if I can’t go back, then I’ll be looking to move on.”
