Rafael Van Der Vaart has spoken of his delight after completing his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Dutch midfielder completed an £8million switch to White Hart Lane from Real Madrid with just hours to spare before the transfer window closed and he even admitted it left him in a daze.

As Spurs fans, we’re obviously delighted to have such a quality player in his prime at 27 to be putting on the famous Lilywhite shirt.

He said: “Four years at Spurs, for 11million euros, I can hardly believe it myself.

“The interest from Tottenham came very quick and I did not have much time to think.

“But I want to play football again and if possible every week, with a beautiful club.

“I’m totally happy.

“I am excited about playing in England. Whether it suits my style remains to be seen, but I think a good footballer can adapt and I am very proud of this transfer.”
