VIDEO: Poch on transfers, trophies and victory

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino gave his verdict after his side beat Colchester of League One 4-1 to advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Nacer Chadli scored a twice on his 100th appearance for the club with Eric Dier and Tom Carroll the other scorers for Spurs.

The draw for the next round takes place on Sunday.

Poch said: (on 4-1 win) “Very important. I think in the way we took the game. To show respect for our opponent and play in the way that we play, I am very pleased. We are in the next round and this is the most important thing and happy because the game was good.”

(on squad rotation for FA Cup game): “It’s been important to keep all involved and they need to feel an important part of the success of the team because I think we have a lot of games ahead in different competitions. We want to stay in all the competitions and go far and for that you need all the squad. I think it is important today to show that we respect every competition and we want to go far.”

(on chances of winning trophies this season):”You never know in football. Realistic is to try to go to the next game and to try and win. This is our mentality and we need to keep this mentality. The most important thing is to believe always, work hard. I think that we have enough quality and a strong squad to try and fight for every competition. And then we’ll see at the end of the season the reality of how it was.”

(on potential signings ahead of the end of the January transfer window): “It’s important to add the right profile. We are in a moment where we build the squad (and) it is not important to bring just to bring (in) because in the market there are a lot of names, but we need to add the right player and the right profile. Maybe we have luck and maybe we add in the next few days.”
