Walker wanted by Villa

Aston Villa wants Spurs right-back Kyle Walker on loan for the rest of the season.

Villa boss Gerard Houllier is understood to be close to agreeing a temporary deal to sign Walker.

Villa assistant manager Gary McAllister said: “Luke Young has seen a specialist. It is a tough time for him but work is continuing with the physios and doctors trying to get to the crux of the problem.”

Asked if Villa were looking for a right-back, he added: “We are looking right across the board. Anyone who that make Aston Villa better, we are in the market for.

“As you can imagine, there is a lot of hard work being done in the recruitment area.

    Not sure if a loan to Villa is advisable. Villa have Eric Lichaj at RB, who looked ok against Bale. If Walker sits on bench for Villa, he may as well sit on bench for Spurs. Plus Villa also have Beye. Also with Albrighton / Downing ahead of him, I guess he would do less bombing up the pitch than he is becoming known for.
