How the Players Rated: Wigan v Spurs

Lloris – 7/10

No help on both of the goals but made a great save from Kone.

Walker – 6/10

Struggled defending against Maloney and was ok going forward

Dawson – 7/10

Cleaned up well but was rash when he dived in on Kone for Hugo to save

Vertonghen – 6/10

Fingers were pointed at his marking for the equaliser

Naughton – 6/10

Had to do better with Wigan’s second goal especially when he let McManaman cut inside.

Parker – 5/10

Went missing after Dembele’s injury and struggled to find a place in the game with THud and Holtby on the ball, maybe should of shot first time after Defoe’s first half run.

Huddlestone – 8/10

Sat very deep looking for the ball inline with the centre-backs, looked comfortable on the ball one of his better games.

Dembele – n/a

Not much to report on.

Bale – 7/10

Got lucky on the goal, credit to him for chasing down and was trying to get involved but was quiet throughout the game.

Dempsey 7/10

Only got started in the second half and clipped in a good cross at the end of the game.

Defoe – 7/10

One of the better players on the day, but struggled to get any space when on the ball.

Subs

Holtby- ran his little legs off but lacked creativity
Lennon – introduced late into the game and never got going
Ekotto – didn’t have to do any defending and put in a good couple of crosses
