Buy or Sell: Latest Tottenham Rumours for the Week of March 26th

Hello fellow Spurs fans! It’s another Wednesday and it’s time for another edition of Buy or Sell: Tottenham Hotspur transfer rumours. I will try to give you my opinions about the latest Spurs rumours. I am going to either ‘buy’ the rumour or ‘sell’ it depending on its possibility and legitimacy. So without further ado, let’s get to it.

1)      Buy: Steven Caulker

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood will aim to sign Cardiff City centre-back Steven Caulker should the Bluebirds suffer relegation, per Dave Kidd at the Mirror.

This could be a very intelligent deal for Spurs as the recent seasons showed the lack of players in that department. Steven Caulker is a young, talented defender who was missed by Spurs fans after he left the club this summer to join Cardiff. However, Cardiff has not been doing well and they are big favorites to relegate this season. Steven Caulker proved that he could be a starting defender for the lower Premier League teams and he could be a really useful backup option at Tottenham.

If Cardiff do relegate this season, Tottenham can buy Caulker for a much cheaper price than £8 million, which Cardiff paid for him this season. If Caulker is available for £3-5 million, which will only happen if Cardiff are relegated, re-signing him would be a calculated gamble and a good deal.

2)      Sell: Younes Kaboul

Besiktas are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Younes Kaboul, per Soriebah Kajue at the Mirror.

Kaboul has been battling with injury problems in the last couple of seasons and he hasn’t been in his best when he returned from his injuries. He can be a very good defender when he finds his groove as he showed us in 2011 under Harry Redknapp and he is still in the prime of his career physically. He could easily undertake the starting job but if his injury problems continue, I don’t think Daniel Levy will show much love to him.

Still, he is a great player who offered a lot to this club for a few seasons now and he still has the ability to do more. He could be tempted by the lucrative deal that the Turkish giants will offer but it will not be a good move for his career as the Turkish league is not a popular league around Europe.

3)      Sell: Loic Remy

Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Loic Remy would prefer a move to Arsenal, per Alan Oliver at the Mirror.

I sold this rumour when it first came out, and I am selling it again. Loic Remy will not be a good deal for Tottenham as he could be the next Adebayor with his ridiculous wage demands and his huge price tag. Queens Park Rangers will not be kind to their London rivals Tottenham and drive the price as high as they can. Tottenham will look to Remy to bolster their attacking options, so their budget for this transfer will be around £5-7 million, a price much lower than QPR will ask for.

Also, Tottenham already has a player in Soldado that they need to win over. Soldado cost this club £26 million and before giving up on him after just one season, Daniel Levy will probably take a patient approach in the transfer market. If Arsenal is on the move for the Frenchman as well, Tottenham should not be a threat for the Gunners.

And there you have it. Those were the week’s latest rumours. See you on another edition of Buy or Sell next Wednesday.
