The Old Lady v The Young Boys

Spurs go into tonight’s game in Turin against Juventus, with a very healthy record which includes recent wins and a draw, against 3 of the top sides in the Premier League.

They are up against a side in Juventus, with not only an extremely impressive record domestically but also in the Champions League. I personally don’t hold to much sway to their Italian league form, because let’s face it, there are only 3 or 4 decent teams in there, compared to several strong sides in the EPL, which Spurs face week in week out.

However their Champions League form, especially recently, is very impressive, only losing twice in 19, and those games to Real Madrid in last years final and to Barcelona in this seasons, group stages.

Despite these impressive facts, I sincerely believe Spurs can beat them, and here are my reasons why.

Juventus are missing several key players, who have already been named in umpteen articles, and that gives Spurs a major chance tonight.

Secondly, after putting Real Madrid to the sword over 2 legs at the start of this season, Spurs will have that self-belief, that they can also give Juventus a run for their money, and quite rightly so.

Of course, we all know what a great side Juventus are, defensively second to none, with a great attacking threat too.

However, I’m quite sure they will not be taking this Spurs side lightly, and it is they who should be very wary of the Spurs attack, and not visa versa.

As most sensible Spurs fans would definitely except a point before the game, I have a sneaky suspicion Spurs will pull off a major shock tonight, and beat Juventus!
