Tottenham – from 15,000 miles away

There are difficulties in being a Spurs fan for over 40 years, and now living in Melbourne, as opposed to when we lived in Richmond, for a start it’s a long way, and relying on TV cover has limits. However as far as I can remember, the performances last season were a revelation, and a pleasure, as Spurs played some of the best football that I can remember, they were VERY quick, played for the vast majority of the season with imagination and flair, and it was a shame that Chelsea were just that little bit better.
However, I have seen the Newcastle and Burnley games on TV here, and can”t believe what I am seeing. Where has the speed and imagination gone. After being embarrased by Man City in the US, and now after 3 very uninspiring performances. There can be no doubt about the skills available, there are top class players pulling on the shirt, and they are surely capable of better than has been shown this season, and the loss of Walker is only one of a large squad. Perhaps the factor of playing at Wembley, so that we are virtually playing 38 away games is nagging at minds, but I just hope that Mauricio can work some magic, and I just hope that it happens sooner.
With Man U playing as Spurs did last year, Old Trafford just could be a nemesis.
