Easy does it
Having seen the Gooners and Leicester register comfortable wins we were faced with tricky and in form opponents but this turned out to be the sort of walk in the park Pochettino could’ve only dreamt of before kick-off.
The Bournemouth Trilogy
With the massive assistance of a goal after 44 seconds Bournemouth were brushed aside with an excellent and assured display.
Harry is absolutely integral and vital to our fortunes between now and mid May and it’s with wonderful timing that he’s hit form now.
He it was who gave us the lead by guiding in Kyle Walker’s cross after the latter, not for the last time was given the freedom of the right hand side. On 14 minutes Kane finished beautifully after being put through by Alli and though there could’ve been many more, there was only one when Eriksen tapped home the rebound after Boruc had failed to deal with a Harry thunderbolt. That completed the scoring.
Tactical naivete
Whilst we were dominant throughout – Dier, Walker, Rose and Kane in particular were excellent – the Cherries were disappointing. They weren’t set up to cope with our advanced full backs and were lightweight in midfield and up front. Only a couple of runs from Adam Smith and Max Gradel gave Toby and Wimmer pause for thought. I can’t remember a shot on target from them.
Phew
Dier made it through the ninety without getting booked, he’s now only got Liverpool and Man United to go. Hm. It’d be handy if we had a ready made replacement, but we don’t.
What now?
Amazingly we now have a goal difference of plus 32 and have scored more and conceded fewer than any other team in the division. I thought I’d never live to see the day.

Foxhunting
“Leicester city, we’re coming for you” was the refrain from the Park Lane which given our next few fixtures is optimistic but, faint heart never won fair lady. Our more realistic target is to remain in the Moneybags League positions for the rest of the season and with the Uniteds of West Ham and Manchester both 11 points behind with a game in hand, we’re looking good given the number of games left.
A couple of weeks off and then Anfield on a Saturday night. Leicester play Southampton on the Sunday thus we have an opportunity, albeit a not very easy one, to apply a bit of pressure.
