What should we expect from Leicester v Spurs?

Bad pennies

Leicester City part III. Should we bother? I suppose we should. Everyone’s sick of ’em though. Running around non stop like small annoying dogs who don’t know when they’re tired. Spoiling our fun in between time-wasting, long throws and paying homage to Robert Huth. Why (why why) they might as well sing Delilah. Still, tonight is the last time until next season thank goodness.

Best laid plans

The irony of two of the top four playing weakened teams so as to give their players a rest and yet ending up with an extra game that might even go to extra time will not be lost on most people. But that’s what you get if you play understrength teams – it may seem a good idea at the time but it rarely goes well especially against one of your peers, which Leicester currently are.

Predictions based on nothing

That won’t stop Poch though I’m sure and in one way this extra game is welcome in that players like Chadli, Son, Onomah, Wimmer and Vorm will be given a proper run out. Trippier will probably play again despite featuring on Saturday as will Carroll. Left back? Dunno, the battle between Rose and Davies is too close to call though I think Rose will win eventually. Alderweireld is the obvious centre back to play given that Wimmer plays on the left. That leaves two places. Bentaleb? Mason? Winks? Probably not two of those three which means that at least one of Dier, Eriksen or Lamela will be asked to start. Maybe. Hopefully not Dembélé, Alli or Harry.

What’s my motivation?

The poor first half against Sunderland could be attributed to many things but tiredness is probably most likely. No big news there. The players coming in tonight may all have their own agendas (Chadli and Son are trying to play themselves into form, Onomah is just trying to learn, etc) but the big thing for them should be that they’ve not played as much as the ‘A’ team so they’re not knackered. Play well and make an impact and they have a big chance of playing a large part in the remainder of the season if they can earn the trust of the coaching staff.

The carrot

The winners get to play Colchester and obviously will be favourites to get to the fifth round.
