After 17 years, Mason departs Spurs

After 17 years at Tottenham Hotspur, Ryan Mason has joined Hull City for an undisclosed club record transfer fee for the Tigers.

The fee is said to be in the region of £8million for the midfielde who has found regular first-team football at White Hart Lane difficult to come by over the past 12 months.

With the likes of Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier, Dele Alli all ahead of him, it’s a wise move for Mason to move on and get regular football. There was also interest from Sunderland, but Mason has opted to move to Hull who are currently managed on a caretaker basis by former Manchester United assistant Mike Phelan.

He joins the likes of Michael Dawson, Jake Livermore and Tom Huddlestone in making the move to Hull.

Best of luck for the future, Ryan.
