Alli warned to up his game

Dele Alli has been warned to up his game by club legend David Ginola as he struggles to recapture his scintillating form of last season.

We have picked up just four points from our last four games, a run, after other results, which has seen us fall to seventh in the Premier League and our former hero Ginola says it’s time for the England star to begin performing on a more consistent basis in order to fulfil his undoubted potential.

“We know Tottenham can defend and in the midfield can create so many things as well,” Ginola said on talkSPORT.

“On the other hand they mixture attitudes going forward upfront.
“They’ve got Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen who’s got good vision and he can score goals.

Ginola added “Dele Alli, well, we know how capable he is, he’s a very talented player, but he needs to be more consistent.
“The Premier League is a long season, you need to be consistent and he needs to be more in charge of the game.”

It was Alli who lost the ball in the lead up to West Brom’s opening goal in their 1-1 draw with Spurs at Wembley last weekend and he put in another subdued performance as we slumped 2-1 to Leicester on Tuesday.

The article adds that Alli described his own side’s performances as “disappointing” and addsd We should never have found themselves 2-0 down.

“We can’t focus on that,” he said. “After performances like this we have to keep picking up points.
“To lose to Leicester away is disappointing but we have to pick ourselves up. We have to keep performing.

Alli added: “It is a long season and we just have to keep picking up points.”
