Barcelona plot Rose move, Swap deal considered

According to The Daily Star Barcelona want Danny Rose – and could offer Jordi Alba in exchange to get the Tottenham star.

The article says that this is sensational claim coming from Spain this morning.

It adds that Rose’s time with us looks to be drawing to a close and starsport understands he’s up for a move to Manchester United, with a £45m switch on the cards either in the New Year or next summer.

The article adds how Premier League rivals Chelsea are keen on the England man too, but he’s got his heart set on a transfer to Old Trafford but Barcelona may be about to throw a spanner in the works.

The article adds that Spanish outlet El Gol Digital report Nou Camp supremo Ernesto Valverde has lost faith in left-back Jordi Alba and wants Rose in as a replacement.

The article also claims that Valverde’s predecessor Luis Enrique was also unsure about Spain international Alba, and made his feelings known to club president Josep Maria Bartomeu at the time.

The article adds Alba could now be offered up to Spurs in an exchange for Rose, adding that Mauricio Pochettino approves of the transfer.

The article also claims a January deal could be on for Rose if £45m is put on the table, however the left-back is said to have some reservations about leaving the club before getting the chance to play in their rebuilt White Hart Lane home ground.

So what do we think about those claims. Would you have Alba at Spurs? I can’t see Rose heading anywhere other than Manchester be it City or United but stranger things as they say. Let us know your thoughts.

  1. I would much rather see him go to Barca than stay in Prem. if he is open to it. Why strengthen your league rivals while weakening yourself? If true, I hope a shot a Barca would turn his head from MU.

Alba wanting to come to Spurs would be a shocker and I would take him – if not only so other players see it and think ‘why not?’

Would be a perception change for the club in the transfer market.
