Bayern Munich manager claims club ‘is counting on’ player linked to Tottenham

Despite reported interest from Tottenham and Arsenal, Bayern Munich are not looking to sell midfielder Corentin Tolisso this summer, according to their manager.

Maxifoot have reported that Bayern boss, Hansi Flick has voiced his desire to keep the midfielder this summer, hailing him a ‘great player’.

It has been reported over the past month that Bayern hold an interest in taking Tanguy Ndombele away from Spurs, given his struggles to make it into Mourinho’s starting XI.

The report from ESPN suggested Bayern would have been interested in using Tolisso as part of a potential swap deal to persuade Spurs into allowing their record signing to leave.

Flick said: “He’s a great player, we all know that. Our team is counting on him, but he has suffered a lot of injuries in recent months. We all hope he can train without pain, and even play (in the Champions League next month).”

However, with Spurs apparently not interested in allowing the Frenchman to leave after just one season, it appears Tolisso will not be joining Spurs this summer (Football.London).

Tolisso has not been a regular for the Bundesliga champions this season, making 13 league appearances for Bayern in the 2019/20 campaign, with only 20% of those coming in the starting XI (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs seem set on signing Southampton’s Hojbjerg this summer and I do believe it will be the Dane who Spurs end up securing this summer. New reports are hitting us daily about discussions between Spurs and Southampton, so I would confidently disregard Tolisso as a potential target.
