BBC Pundit in sly Spurs dig

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas took a cheeky swipe at Tottenham as he claimed Harry Kane is now ready for “a big club”.

The former Arsenal hero made the comment while working for the BBC and before the striker bagged a hat-trick to send England into the last-16.

In his role as a studio pundit ahead of the match, Fabregas said: “Harry Kane is probably the best striker in the Premier League.I think he’s now ready to go to a big club.”

Never one to shy away from his distaste for Spurs, Fabregas took the chance to get one over one of his rivals before England’s 6-1 win.
However Kane is expected to stay in North London after signed a new long term deal earlier this summer.

On signing that deal Kane said: “I’m looking forward to the future. It’s been fantastic to consistently get in the Champions League so I’m really excited to have another go at that, and with the Premier League and FA Cup, we’ll look to go as far as we can.”

And England captain has stolen the show for Gareth Southgate’s side in Russia, with five goals in two games.

After his last-gasp winner against Tunisia, even the German press said “We wish we had Kane”.

Well with his current and former clubs failure to qualify for the champions league and his failure to land a place in Spain’s World Cup squad perhaps Fabregas is confused and should find himself a big club?
