YOU’RE THE BOSS: Pick your Tottenham team vs Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur face arguably our biggest game of the season against Arsenal at the Lane on Sunday as we look to restore some pride in our season.

Following two defeats on the bounce, Tottenham fans will be looking for Tim Sherwood’s side to bounce back with all three points against that lot from South London.

A few eyebrows were raised when Sherwood opted for Kane ahead of Soldado against Benfica, and it will certainly be another interesting selection ahead as he looks to outdo Wenger.

If you were Tottenham boss, what would your Spurs starting XI be? Here’s what we have come up with:-

Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose

Lennon Sandro Dembele Eriksen

Adebayor Soldado

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I think we should go with
    naughton because walker injured
dembele if fit if not then benteleb

  2. Depending on fitness I would go with
    Walker, Kaboul, Vertongen, Rose
    Townsend, Sandro, Erikson, Chadli
    Adebayor, Kane

  3. I think we should go for a good old attacking formation using a 4-1-3-2 have Lloris in goal, at RB Walker CB Vertongen and Kaboul LB rose
CDM have Sandro doing his magic like he did in Newcastle and have LW Lennon CAM Eriksson and RW Townsend and have our two strikers of Soldado and Adebayor if I see bentaleb or Kane on tomorrow I'll shoot myself COYS

  4. Have to go 4-1-4-1 with Lloris in goal, defence of Walker if fit, (Naughton if not) Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose, CDM Sandro, midfield quartet of Lennon, Paulinho, Eriksen and Townsend with Adebayor up top. Allow Eriksen free reign to roam, not restricted by defensive duties and he will dominate proceedings.

  5. As Walker and Dembele are unfit I would go for:
    Naughton Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
    Sandro Paulinho Bentaleb
    Lennon Erikson

  6. Lloris
    Naughton, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Fryers
    Townsend, Sandro, Dembele,
    Adebayor, Soldado
Cant face seeing Walker or Rose on the pitch anymore. Walker cannot play 90 mins without making a howler and Rose won the game for Arsenal earlier when s——g himself on the halfway line. Afraid we're running out pf players to pick that will give you 90 mins of effort !!!Sad to say but it looks like another hammering as Arse are better without Ozil.

  7. The biggest problem we have is our midfield. I would try and have Eriksen as a central midfielder alongside Sandro or Paulinho .He is the closest we have to Modric . I would start both Lennon and Townsend and try to beat Arsenal with speed. I would also play Soldado with Adebayor up front
    Team would be
Walker if fit , if not fit Naughton (Do we have a better right back ?) , Kaboul . Vertonghen , Fryers
    Lennon , Sandro , Eriksen , Townsend
Soldado , Adebayor (Soldado playing further forward than Adebayor)

If we need to beef up the midfield , I would bring in Paulinho or Capoue and leave out Soldado

  8. Let me ask you a question, guys. Is it really that hard for you to remember that it's "Eriksen", not "Erikson", "Ericson", "Eriksson", etc? Why is it like that? I really can't understand that and I really hate it. Why do everyone keeps spelling his name with a mistake?

  9. Lloris
Naughton(Walker if fit) Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
    Dembele Eriksen Townsend

Lot depends on whether Gibbs plays. If Monreal starts, shift Andros wide right to run at the Spaniard, Eriksen wide left and Mousa/Paulinho CAM. The idea of playing mousa/eriksen wide is to clog the midfield up and prevent AFC from playing their passing game. Arsenal have a general tendancy not to track midfield runners which is why I want Paulinho to make lungbursting runs from midfield. If Walker doesnt start due to fitness, I feel we'll need Mousa's defensive stability to cover Naughton. If Mousa isnt fit, we'll have to look at someone like Siggy or Lennon.
It's a NLD, form doesnt matter, the team with more passion and desire wins and boy we could do with a win in a game as huge as this. UCL still isnt out for this season. Can see LFC dropping points today vs MUFC and vs CFC and MCFC as well. For us, 23 points should be the aim, can still catch both AFC and LFC- beat one and draw with the other, the second draw will prob be vs WBA(A) or Stoke(A). If it's any help, we've been solid vs smaller sides esp. away from home, LFC and AFC games will define our season as Tim said, if we cant beat those above us, we dont deserve UCL football #COYS
