Club hero will stay at Spurs believes Mason

Former Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason told talkSPORT he believes Harry Kane will stay at the club and win trophies.

They came through the youth ranks together in north London, both experienced loan spells away from White Hart Lane before making their break and while Mason moved on to Hull City before his recent retirement, Kane stayed and, under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino, has become one of Europe’s deadliest marksmen.

Speaking to Andy Goldstein and Darren Lewis on the Final Word, the former midfielder assured Spurs fans Kane’s loyalty is firmly with the Lilywhites. He said: “What I believe is that Harry wants to go down in the record books as a record-breaker and going out to LaLiga that’s not going ot happen.

Mason added: “Staying in the Premier League with Tottenham, that will happen. He’ll break Shearer’s record, he’ll break Rooney’s record for England – I’m so confident.”

Mason was then asked if he thinks Kane will achieve all of this at Spurs, Mason continued: “I believe so, I feel like the attraction of Spurs for Harry at the moment is the way they’re playing.”

Kane’s prolific form has garned attention from across Europe and has seen the likes of Spanish giants Real Madrid hold an interest in the striker, however Mason believes Kane will stay and become a legend. “You look at Harry, four years ago you couldn’t have imagined that he was a Premier League player,”:he added.
“But the gaffer and the football club have turned him into a world-class striker, one of the best in the world so Harry is what, 24?He doesn’t need to win a trophy right now. Harry I belive will stay at Spurs, he will stay there scoring goals, and I believe he will win trophies with Spurs.”
